I need to know who has promised what.  How do I find out?

On your (or your child's) wish list page, against each item that has been promised, there is an option to Say Thankyou.  Click on this link to find out.  However,  if you opted to be surprised when setting up the wish list (i.e. not to know which items have been promised)  then you need to change the setting to show me in my gogoblin.  You can check the promises and then change the setting back.  If you are still having problems, just contact gogoblin and we will help you out.

I have promised a gift but I have changed my mind.  How do I 'unpromise' it?

If you are a member you may unpromise a gift via your To Do List.

Non members may contact gogoblin providing the list number, your name and the item you'd like to unpromise. It will be manually 'unpromised' for you.

I promised a gift and now I'm not sure which one it was.  How do I find out what I promised?

For members this is easy: when you make a promise,  it will appear on your To Do list so you can find it there.  If you are not a member contact gogoblin giving the list number and password and we will let you know what you promised.

I'm having problems with the gogoblin browser button. How can I fix it?

What should happen is that when you click the browser button, a new window will open (gogoblin's add another gift page) asking you to add details of the item you have chosen. If you are in one of gogoblin's shops, an image of the item may also appear.

• Problem: I cannot load the button in the first place
  Have you checked that you are using the right browser? – should be IE6 or IE7.

• Problem: I have followed the instructions and loaded the button but I cannot see it on the toolbar.
  Try closing the IE browser and opening it again.
  Or maybe it is on the toolbar but lurking out of view – try dragging the right hand end of the toolbar onto the screen.

• Problem: The button is loaded and in view, but when I click on the button nothing happens.
  The gogoblin add another gift screen is essentially a pop up, so if you have any pop up blockers, you will need to disable them. You will also need to disable the Google toolbar (right click on the toolbar and click against google in the drop down menu). You can enable the toolbar again when you have finished making your list.

Note: As every website is designed differently and every PC configured differently, it is not possible to predict exactly how the button will work in every case. So if the button is not working for you, remember that you can always add a gift to your list manually by copying and pasting the web address straight into your wish list – go to my wish lists and then “add another gift”.

how can you reassure me of my child's safety?
We have made the site as secure as possible so that a child's list can only be accessed using the list password and ID which gogoblin itself assigns to the list. So the only people who get to see what your child wants for a birthday or Christmas are those you have emailed the list details to.

And we don't take any information that could help a stranger identify you or your child, no address, no phone number, not even a full postcode.

what if one of the shops lets me down?
Once you enter another site we cannot be responsible for your experience with the other site. However, we go to great lengths to ensure that we have the very best online shops on gogoblin and if you are unhappy with your shopping experience, we'd like to know.

what if the item I want is not in one of Gogoblin's online shops?
That is fine. You can shop anywhere on the internet and still add to your gogoblin wish list. Only we don't get the commission and our charities don't get a share. But to make it really easy for you to add gifts from any shop on the web, you can use the gogoblin button.

I am signed in as myself. How can I update my child's list as well?
You need to sign out and then sign back in again, selecting your child's name from the options you are given once you have signed in.

I want to use my wish list as a personal shopping list. How do I do that?
You can add your own wish list to your to-do list by entering your own wish list number and password in find a friend's wish list . To add the items you wish to buy to your to-do list, you will need to promise them.
